Mexican coffees have always gone down a storm here at Rin's, so sourcing an offering that not only tastes great but also has a positive impact on producers in one of the toughest and most isolated producing regions in the world has been a top priority.
That's why we've partnered with Ensambles to bring you this delicious washed lot from the Indigenous Mixtec producers of the San Juan Coatzospam.
For decades these farmers have relied on growing coffee, alongside fruit and timber production, however, the impacts of decreasing yields and increasing pest and disease issues as well as the presence of middle men who offer very low prices have all had catastrophic impacts.
Ensambles have been building strong relationships in this area since 2021, establishing a stronger supply chain and a warehouse and lab to help connect these producers with the speciality coffee industry worldwide.
Nuu Davii, which means 'People of the Rain' in the indigenous language of the Mixtec people, is a stunning example of Mexican coffee, reminding us of rich dark chocolate, honeydew melon with a warming cinnamon-spice finish.
