Welcome to Rin's!

If you’re one of our lovely regulars, you might have noticed that things are looking a little different at HQ. The changes have hardly been subtle, but they reflect far more of who we are and how we have moved the business forwards: same fabulous coffee and friendly chatter, we’ve just made improvements to how it looks and its sustainability.

The Story Behind the Rebrand

When Jayne bought the business in 2022, the branding came with it which was a good thing. She took on a business and a name that people recognised and customers trusted. She didn’t want to make any big changes before the team could prove to regulars they had what it took to continue serving up great coffee.

Fast forward three years and the business is a very different place.  We approach coffee in a different way so we felt we needed a brand that reflected the changes we have made. We still have the same immersive espresso bar where you can grab a drink and a chat whilst choosing your beans and teas and delving in to all things coffee.  Alongside those great brews and friendly, customer-focussed service, we’ve seen faces come and go, and we felt like a change was needed to freshen things up a bit.

Having admired their work for years, there was only one person Jayne wanted to approach and boy did he come up trumps -  Jonny and the team at Scratch Creative.  After just one meeting with Jayne and James to get their thoughts on how he could incorporate their ideas in to a rebrand, Jonny went away to reflect and fed back his ideas.  We were blown away with the results.

At Rin’s we have values that we stand by, and we wanted these to be reflected in our branding and the way we communicate with the world. Whilst we believe in taking our coffee and our commitment to our customers seriously, we’re not ones to take ourselves too seriously and we wanted to try and strike a balance between the two.

The New Look

Logo and name

We think we’ve been friends for long enough that we can drop the formalities, so we’re going by Rin’s now. It feels more us.  It’s a nod to the man who started it all but it’s also who we are.

Branding and colours

If you’ve been to the roastery and met Jayne and the team, you know we’re not the kind of people who believe in brief cases, ties and boardrooms; we love colour and personality and shouting about who we are, and our new brand does just that. Our vibrant new brand reflects who are are as individual whilst showcasing our personality as a team. We hope you love it as much as we do.  The good news is that we have merchandise available to buy so you can inject some colour and fun into your life (and wardrobe) too if you want to join the Rins party!

Packaging

The packaging is one of the biggest changes, and we are in love with it. You may have clocked it on our socials or in the shop already, but it’s the way forward for our coffees.

Each label is designed with the colours of the origin country’s flag in mind meaning the producer is front of mind whilst making the shelves pop . It’s not enough for us just to source good coffee, we want to share the best coffees we can with you from farmers and producers who are leading the way in terms of production. As well as showcasing us and our brand, we want you to be able to trace a clear line between the coffee that’s in the hopper and the people that put the time, care, knowledge and energy into growing it. We want to give their produce the respect it deserves.

Website

We want our website to communicate who we are, so that if you can’t get to the roastery or you live at the other end of the country, you still know the story of who you’re buying from. We are working closely with Jenny Jones Photography to get some brilliant shots of our roastery, the people behind the brand and the products. Jenny’s images really help us tell the story of the business and help to elevate our online presence. It’s also a delight having her in the roastery, sharing her creativity and helping us to showcase what we do.

Onwards and upwards

We are really proud of this rebrand and all of the hard work that has gone into it. We couldn’t have done it without the fantastic people at Scratch Creative, Jenny Jones Photography and Andy at Halo Print House all of whom are local suppliers based just down the road from us in Kendal.

Our community is so important to us, from customers to wholesale clients to suppliers, we are nothing without the support from those around us. We hope you love the rebrand as much as we do.  We would love to hear your thoughts!

We wouldn’t have got to where we are today without your continued support, and we can’t wait to share what’s coming next. We’re so excited about the coffees we have on the shelf, and our plans for 2026.

Hopefully we’ll see you all soon.
