Are you an Espresso-head? Americano-lover? What about a Latte-artiste with the patience to wait a minute for your steamed milk after watching your perfect shot settle in your demi-tasse? Well then this single-boiler supremo might just be your dream machine!

We think the ECM Classika is amazing value for a top notch home espresso machine, and oozes the quality you should expect from ECM. It features the high-end aspects of its big brothers including an E61 grouphead, stainless steel boiler, robust chasis-build and stainless steel casing with chrome finish. It has the same footprint as its sibling, the Mechanika Slim at only 250mm wide so doesn't need much worktop space (but its looks still make it worthy of a prominent spot in your kitchen).

Having a single boiler instead of a heat exchanger or dual boiler means making your espresso first and then switching to the steaming mode and waiting just a short while for the pressure to build and let you turn your milk into foamy silk. If you plan to make lots of milk drinks back to back for dinner guests on a deadline, it's worth thinking about the Mechanika Slim VI or the ECM Technika V but, if you're all about the espresso and want to save a chunk of change, this Classika should be given serious consideration.
